Perth City Information
Perth is the most isolated city in the world, the fastest growing city in the country, and the capital of Western Australia. Located on the banks of the Swan River Perth can best be overlooked from King’s Park or South Perth forshore.
Founded and established by Captain James Stirling in 1829, Perth was informally known as the Swan River Colony by British settlers.
Home to several memorial statues and beautiful botanical gardens of which King’s Park is a must-see for visitors to Perth. Surround yourself around 400ha of protected national park right in the city with the famous treetop walk.
Another popular attraction of the Perth CBD is the Perth Mint, where gold and other precious metals are developed and supplied.
The Swan Bell Tower is a more recent addition to Perth’s attractions, completed in 2001 and standing 82.5m tall. It contains twelve bells of St. Martin-in-the-Fields from the 14th Century.
SHOPPING PARADISE
Perth is the best place for shopping. There are many variety of shops and malls. As Western Australia is so isolated most country folks travel to the big city to find that special gift.
NORTHBRIDGE
Northbridge is the suburb of Perth, Western Australia best known for nightlife. The official suburb and its name date from 1981, prior to which the area was part of the Perth CBD, and was known by informal names such as “North of the Bridge” and “North of the Line”.
There are various restaurants and drinking spots all over Northbrige and there are too many fantastic ones to mention.
