Hillarys Information
Just a little north in the Perth metropolitan area is the suburb of Hillarys. The best way to get there is the scenic route along the West Coast highway.
The Hillarys Boat harbour otherwise known as Sorrento Quay is a must see place for all visitors to Western Australia. You will find the perfect day out and there is also plenty of public transport.
There are many restaurants, cafes and great shopping places with live entertainment providing a fantastic holiday atmosphere.
Hillarys is very well known by the people of Perth and many come to relax and enjoy themselves, especially on the weekends. Some go for shopping, eating out or beach activities while others enjoy the marina wall for fantastic fishing.
Perth has only one fish aquarium for tourists and it is located here at Hillarys Boat Harbour.
There are always many upcoming events and festivals held here. Apart from the annual boat show there is the annual Chocolate Regatta which provides plenty of fun. The name comes from the event where different teams tape together chocolate and milk cartons to build boats and have a race inside the harbour.
Hillarys is also one of Perth's transit point for the ferries that run to Rottnest. So why not get here in the morning to enjoy a relaxing breakfast on the boardwalk and then make your way to Rottnest Island for the day.
One thing is for sure about Hillarys and that is once you discover it you will be back again and again. The atmosphere is just too exciting.
