Boulder Information
Boulder is actually the twin sister of Kalgoorlie. Originally in the early 1900's the Town of Boulder was actually the central business district for the region. After it amalgamated with Kalgoorlie it has now just become an extension suburb, but still remains more historical than Kalgoorlie central.
Located just a short drive or 20 minute walk of Kalgoolie it hosts the airport for the region. It is the quickest way to travel to the kalgoorlie by air.
Boulder features a first class giant waterslide so it is the tourists and travellers best way to cool down from the hot climate.
There are also an abundance of parks and leisure facilities making it a great place to stay.
Just like central Kalgoorlie, Boulder has some great monuments and attractions. Visit the Goldfields war museum and the miners monument. The Goldfields war museum is open Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm and on Saturday, Sunday or public Holidays 9am to 1pm. All you need to get in is a gold coin donations so come and visit.
Also visit the Palace theatre and the Boulder Markets and the Loopline Railway Museum while here.
You will also find the two up gaming arena located in Boulder. This Australian game is where two coins are tossed into the air and you either pick heads or tails. In days gone by this was one of the gold diggers favorite pastimes.
For more of an adrenalin adventure, try dirtbike racing in the outback. The four wheelers known as quads provide a perfect getaway and fun to remember long after you have left.
Although both Kalgoorlie and Boulder look like they just have the usual shops, look hard enough and you will find the special perfect present for that city slicker friend back at home.
